Get Wild in the Winter at Igloofest!

If there’s one city that likes to embrace a cold winter chill, it’s Montreal. And what else are you going to do when it’s so cold out you can barely feel your limbs? You party hard enough to warm yourself up. Welcome to Igloofest!

What is it? Igloofest is a festival held every year at the Quays of the Old Port of Montreal (Jacques Cartier Pier).  AND it takes place for four whole weekends…a total of 12 nights, starting on January 17th and ending on February 9th. So if you’re in the area, you have no excuses not to participate.

Did I mention it’s an outdoor festival by the way? Yep, come dance under the stars while DJs spin for hours. With over 100 performers making an appearance over the course of the festival, there’s sure to be something you love. If you’ve ever experienced the weekly famous summer event Piknic Electronik at Jean Drapeau Parc, Igloofest is pretty much the winter version of that…with snow and winter jackets instead of sunshine and bikinis. Trust me, still equally as sexy.

Tips to make the most of Igloofest:

•    Dress WARM. Winter in Montreal is COLD! Wear multi-layers, even if you know you’ll be dancing up a storm. The temperature can drop to minus 20 degrees.
•    Yes, you can buy alcohol on location…so don’t smuggle your own inside! The rules are strict on this one.
•    There are tons of snack booths on site, including hot dogs, nachos, and of course…poutine.
•    Show up early if you want to get close to the DJ. Igloofest gets BUSY!
•    There are toilets on site. Lucky you.
•    You can purchase season passes for $120, weekend passes for $40, or $16+ for individual prices. Be sure to purchase in advance, when possible!
•    If you’re driving, parking is available at the Quai de l’Horloge and King Edward Quay.

Price: $15-20
